"The CTHS aims to ensure a viable future for its members by providing assistance and representation within the Thoroughbred Breeding Industry."

1. The CTHS serves effectively as a clearinghouse for questions and answers about the industry from breeders in BC.

2. The CTHS serves as a voice for its members in the industry. As key issues and problems of the business are discussed, the CTHS representatives carry the voice of breeders to those meeting rooms where decisions are made.

3. The CTHS communicates regularly with its members on vital issues and projects we have embraced through newsletters, announcements and annual general meetings.

4. The CTHS provides a series of cash benefits for its members, including a subscription to The Canadian Thoroughbred Magazine and Breeders' Awards.

5. The CTHS is heavily involved with the BC Horse Racing Industry Association in efforts to gain more favorable tax legislation and other positive legislative changes.

6. The CTHS host its Annual Awards Night, which brings together breeders from all across BC in a gala social evening.

7. The CTHS continues to hold the only Two-Year-Old in Training Sale in North America to perform Bloodtesting and Endoscopic Examinations, to serve as a means, for our members, to sell their stock and increase their cash benefits from breeding. This sale entitles the graduate to race in the $60,000 Juvenile Stakes (both colts and fillies)and the $60,000 H.A. Hindmarsh and H.J. Addison Stakes (3yr olds and up). As well as serving as a venue for the introduction of new people into the business.

8. The CTHS, through our Thoroughbred Improvement Program, distributes funds from the government to many programs including the BC Sire Stakes, Breeders awards, Sales Promotion, Stakes and other races.

9. The CTHS continues to provide many free services to our members including Remote Naming and Live Foal reporting.

10. The CTHS is heavily involved with the Performance Horse Industry by trying to relocate Thoroughbreds from our industry into new careers.

11. The CTHS supports many facets of the Thoroughbred Industry through sponsorship of various organizations including the "Horse Racing Hall of Fame".
